Cricket After Dinner Speaker

 

Cricketer turned official, Chris Broad has also dabbled within broadcasting. An opening batsman, Broad played in 26 Test matches and 34 ODIs for England, scoring six centuries throughout that time. Part of the 1986/87 Ashes’ winning team, Broad made his debut during 1984 against the West Indies at Lords. Progressing through pretty much all aspects of Cricket, Broad has an extensive knowledge of the game, a skill which makes him a desirable and demanded keynote and cricket speaker.

Making his ODI debut in 1986, Broad’s career isn’t with controversy. An appearance within the 1990 Rebels tour followed several incidents which have put a dent in an otherwise perfect and prolific career across the world of cricket; these include not walking during 1987 tour of Pakistan and his infamous clashes with the England management which came to ahead during the 1988 Bicentennial Test in Sydney. His passion for his sport, his country and his believes occasionally over spilt, and he was a victim of his own pressure; however these incidences prove how dedicated and committed he was to preserving the cricketing honour of his country. These characteristics within Broad’s playing style and attitude can be seen in those of his son, Stuart, who is currently an integral part of the current England team across all formats of the game. A role model to his son and undoubtedly other young cricketers, Broad is unquestionably an inspirational sports speaker.

Making his last international appearance in 1989, Broad has since transferred his skills and knowledge of the game into a different avenue by becoming an ICC qualified official. Named International Cricketer of the Year for 1987, Broad transferred his playing skills into officiating 2003 showing a real love for the game, something which shines through as his role as a sports speaker and after dinner speaker. A strong-minded individual and gritty cricket speaker, Chris Broad’s continual involvement within the sport at the highest levels only reinforce his superiority within the game.
